LOCH NESS on Acorn TV. When a piano teacher’s body is found at the bottom of a cliff — with part of his brain having been extracted through his nasal cavity while he was still alive — a search for a different kind of monster begins in a village on the shore of the famed Scottish loch. Laura Fraser (“Breaking Bad”) stars as the local Detective Sergeant Annie Redford, the mother of an unruly teenage daughter and wife of a tour-boat operator in a close-knit town where, as in “Broadchurch,” everybody has a secret. Siobhan Finneran (“Downton Abbey”) is Detective Chief Inspector Lauren Quigley, brought in from Glasgow to lead the investigation, with her promotion depending on its successful conclusion — and who thinks the killer is hiding in plain sight. Writing in The New York Times, Neil Genzlinger called it “a fine diversion for summer evenings.”
