Microwaving your tea is actually better and healthier for you, according to a food scientist in Australia. He told ABC News that you can get more antioxidants by doing so — and that it tastes better too.
Apparently, the best way to make the tea is by putting hot water in the microwave-safe cup with the teabag, then microwaving it for about 30 seconds on half power. Don’t forget to leave the mug for a minute to cool before removing the teabag and enjoying your tea.
This method increases 80 percent of caffeine and antioxidants, like polyphenols, which helps prevent cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
