McIntosh Announces New Integrated Amplifier and SACD Player
McIntosh announced new new products at the High End Show in Munich. First is the MA8900 integrated amplifier (shown here, $7,500), rated at 200 watts per channel and featuring the company’s new McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks. The MA9800 includes the upgradeable DA1 Digital Audio Module, with six digital inputs (including a USB input that accepts signals up to 32-bit/384-kHz and supports up to DSD 256 and DXD 384 kHz) and an upgraded eight-channel 32-bit DAC. The unit also has six unbalanced and one balanced analog input. The second new product is the MCD350 SACD/CD player ($4,500), which includes a balanced two-channel 32-bit/192-kHz DAC and has a 2x read speed and twin laser optical pickup.
