Michael Bennett made an appearance on Undisputed on Wednesday. A couple topics he talked about were Tom Brady and his decision to donate his endorsement money.
While talking about Brady’s career, Bennett made a hilarious comment about the search for the Patriots quarterback’s stolen Super Bowl jersey (it was ultimately found in Mexico after an investigation by “the FBI, NFL security and Texas law enforcement”):
“Speaking of Tom Brady, they had the whole jersey fiasco, it blew my mind. They went to Mexico to get the jersey, and we still don’t know who killed Tupac and Notorious B.I.G., but they found that jersey. Y’all, find out who killed Tupac today.”
On a more serious note, Bennett explained why he decided to donate his endorsement money:
“I decided to do that because I felt like if the system’s not going to invest in children in minority communities, then as a player and somebody in a powerful position, I had to go back and show kids that there’s people that believe in them. There’s somebody that wants to invest in their education and somebody that wants to invest in their after school programs and creating opportunities for them.”
Bennett also went on to talk about The Bennett Foundation and how he hopes that kids know they can grow up to be more than athletes, that they can be “scientists and creators in technology,” something his brother, Martellus, has also talked about.
