Two days before the presidential inauguration, scientists are expected to announce that 2016 was the hottest year on earth since record-keeping began in 1880 ​— news that will test national, state and economic leadership on climate change. The Swiss Stock Market Finished With A Modest Loss

The Swiss stock market ended the final trading day of 2016 with a small loss. The market got off to a weak start Friday and slipped beneath 8,200 points. The market staged a bit of a recovery in the afternoon and briefly broke through into positive territory, before slipping back into the red.
